Devastating💔: Browns playoff seed locked in after Week 17’s results, Week 18 vs Bengals meaningless

Browns vs Bengals will mean nothing for the visiting team

A season of uncertainty has gathered certainty over the last few days for the Cleveland Browns. On Thursday night, the Browns made it certain that they would play in the postseason. As we shared, Cleveland had routes to the first, second or fifth seed in the AFC Playoff picture.

All of that depended on the Miami Dolphins beating the Baltimore Ravens in Week 17.

Needless to say, the Dolphins didn’t do their part. Instead, the Ravens blew them out 56-19 on Sunday.

With the Ravens securing the top overall seed and the divisional winners getting the top four seeds, the Browns are now locked into the fifth seed. Cleveland will travel to the division winner with the worst record after Week 18.

Our roundtable this morning discussed what Cleveland should do if their game next week against the Cincinnati Bengals was meaningless to them. Later in the morning, we heard a report that the Browns had made a plan for their veterans in that scenario.

At the end of the early games on New Year’s Eve, Cleveland would be matched up with the Jacksonville Jaguars during the Wild Card round of the playoffs. The Browns beat the Jaguars earlier this season.
