Deion Sanders Loses Son Of Legendary Colorado Football Player to Transfer Portal

Colorado tight end Caleb Fauria, the son of Buffaloes football legend Christian Fauria, is entering the NCCA transfer portal.

Christian, the elder Fauria, played for the Buffaloes from 1991-94. He had 1,058 yards and 11 touchdowns over four seasons and wound up being a second-round pick by the Seattle Seahawks in the 1995 NFL Draft. He’s one of Colorado’s top tight ends in the football program’s history.

Caleb, meanwhile, didn’t make much of an impact for Colorado during his two seasons with the team. He didn’t catch a single pass for the Buffs in Deion Sanders’ first year as head coach, but did appear in six games. He’s no doubt looking for a spot that can give him more playing time in 2024.

Caleb Fauria was a three-star prospect coming out of high school. The 6-foot-5, 220-pound tight end has the size to be a good player for a lower-tier program. It’s going to be interesting to see where he ends up.

Deion Sanders, meanwhile, has his work cut out for him this offseason.
