The Broncos had three players ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Bears; Justin Simmons is suspected

After two days as a limited participant, veteran safety Justin Simmons (hip) did not practice Friday because it was doubtful he would play against the Chicago Bears on Sunday.

Still on the ground, the group is present all week:
Inside linebacker Josey Jewell (hip/groin), outside linebacker Frank Clark (hip) and defensive lineman Mike Purcell (ribs). All three players were eliminated.

Meanwhile, Center Lloyd Cushenberry began stretching but then went into the locker room wearing a pair of sneakers and did not return during opening hours. Head coach Sean Payton said Cushenberry, who was later listed on the injury report as a limited participant due to illness, was expected to be fine. Meanwhile, receiver Jerry Jeudy (knee) was a full participant in practice after being limited on Wednesday and Thursday.

The bears are suffering too. Chicago’s injury situation is not much better. The Bears are playing without three of their secondary members.

Defensive backs Jaylon Johnson (hamstring), Eddie Jackson (foot) and Josh Blackwell (hamstring) are all ruled out, while running back Travis Homer (ankle) is questionable.
