Newcastle United are reportedly being linked with a stunning move for Argentine international Valentín Barco as the club continues to reshape its midfield options ahead of the new Premier League campaign.

 

Barco is a versatile player capable of operating in midfield as well as at left-back, making him an attractive profile for a Newcastle side undergoing significant changes under new head coach Matthias Jaissle. However, despite the growing transfer speculation, there is an important development that supporters should know: Barco has already completed a move to Chelsea.

 

Chelsea officially confirmed on August 2 that they had signed the Argentina international from Strasbourg on a contract running until 2033. The 22-year-old had previously joined Strasbourg permanently after spending time on loan there from Brighton & Hove Albion.

Newcastle have genuine reasons to continue looking at midfield reinforcements.
