Arsenal Reach Agreement for Aaron Wan-Bissaka as Gabriel Jesus Joins West Ham in €10m Swap Deal

Arsenal and West Ham United have reportedly reached an agreement in principle over a blockbuster swap deal that could see Aaron Wan-Bissaka move to the Emirates Stadium, while Gabriel Jesus heads in the opposite direction to the London Stadium.

According to reports close to the negotiations, the proposed transfer is a straight swap deal, with Arsenal set to pay an additional €10 million to West Ham to complete the agreement. The extra payment reflects Wan-Bissaka’s strong performances and growing importance in recent seasons.

The Gunners have been keen to strengthen their defensive options ahead of the 2027/28 campaign, with manager Mikel Arteta believed to be a long-time admirer of Wan-Bissaka’s defensive quality, recovery pace, and one-on-one ability. Arsenal see the England international as a player capable of adding both experience and competition at right-back.

Meanwhile, Gabriel Jesus looks set for a fresh start after an inconsistent spell in North London. Although the Brazilian forward has shown flashes of his quality, injuries and competition for places have limited his influence. West Ham believe Jesus can become the focal point of their attack and provide the clinical finishing and experience needed to push the club towards European qualification.

The negotiations between both clubs have progressed positively in recent days, with only the final paperwork and medical examinations remaining before the transfer can be officially announced. Sources indicate that all parties involved are confident the deal will be completed without any major obstacles.

For Arsenal, securing Wan-Bissaka would represent another statement signing as Arteta continues reshaping his squad to compete for the Premier League and UEFA Champions League titles. On the other hand, West Ham would strengthen their attacking department with a proven Premier League striker while receiving an additional €10 million as part of the agreement.

If completed, the transfer will be one of the most talked-about deals of the summer transfer window, with two Premier League clubs exchanging established stars in a move that could benefit both sides.

Supporters from both clubs are already reacting across social media, with opinions divided over which team will come out on top. While Arsenal fans are excited by the prospect of adding one of the league’s best defensive full-backs, West Ham supporters are optimistic that Gabriel Jesus can rediscover his best form in claret and blue.

An official announcement is now expected in the coming days if the remaining formalities are completed as planned.
