Noa-Lynn van Leuven, a Dutch darts player, recently made history by becoming the first transgender athlete to qualify for the PDC (Professional Darts Corporation) World Darts Championship. The 28-year-old clinched her spot after a strong performance in the PDC Womenโ€™s Series, where she defeated several leading players, including world-ranked Beau Greaves. Her victory earned her a place in the highly competitive tournament, setting a new milestone in darts history.

While her achievement has been celebrated by many, van Leuven has faced harsh criticism from some fans and players within the darts community. Responding to these critics, she recently took to social media, referring to her detractors as “toxic b—–s” and urging them to act respectfully. Van Leuven expressed frustration with those who question her place in womenโ€™s darts competitions, highlighting the negative effects of such attitudes on the sport’s inclusivity.

Her historic qualification and outspoken response have fueled a broader conversation within the sport about transgender athletes’ rights and representation. As she moves forward to the championship, van Leuven remains focused on her game, hopeful that her journey will pave the way for greater acceptance and inclusivity in professional darts.
