Since tying the knot, Simone Biles and her husband, Jonathan Owens, have been living apart due to their demanding schedules. Biles recently made history at the Paris Olympics with three gold medals, while Owens, a safety for the Chicago Bears, has been immersed in the travel and preparation demands of an NFL season. Even with all of this going on, Biles is determined to keep their marriage strong. She’s always looking for ways for them to spend time together and make sure they stay connected, no matter how busy life gets.
After wrapping up her Olympic achievements, Biles took a short break and used the time to visit Owens in Chicago. “I went to go see my husband to do a little reset and just spend time with him because ever since we got married we’ve been long distance,” Biles shared. Understanding the importance of these moments, she spent a week relaxing with him, giving them both a chance to recharge and reconnect before she returned to her rigorous Gold Over America Tour training schedule. For Biles, that time together was essential for decompression and for keeping their relationship strong amid their busy lives.
Being apart hasn’t been easy for Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens, and the distance can definitely take a toll on their relationship. In September, Biles dove straight into her 32-city Gold Over America Tour, which meant even more time away from Owens. She acknowledges that the hardest part of being long-distance is missing those everyday moments they used to share. “Whenever we’re together, we really cherish those moments,” she says, highlighting just how precious their time together has become. However, despite the challenges, Biles and Owens found a way to reconnect during the GOAT Tour, proving that love can bridge the gap, no matter the distance.
