The roster includes 21 gymnasts for the current season. However, the junior from Alexandria is no longer part of the team. Despite that, Annie participated in the preseason training sessions and took part in Gymnastics 101. So what happened to her? Why is she absent from the roster? No answer has come out on that. Surely, there are a few loose ends. A connection between those signifies a grave meaning. Annie Beard’s name does not appear on either the most recent roster or the roster prior to LSU Gymnastics‘ season-opening match versus Iowa State. She was a sophomore last year and had previously taken Gymnastics 101. So, was her name removed from the roster because of an emergency? In Gymnastics 101, Annie fell on the beam during her performance. Later, she failed to complete her routine and fled the floor without a hint. The gymnastics fans did not take it seriously. However, on December 22, just after Gymnastics 101, she posted a mysterious message on Instagram. LSU Gymnastics Star Haleigh Bryant’s Major Skill Issue Once Almost Ended Her NCAA Career Post Legendary Coach’s Disapproval The post had a carousel of snapshots, focusing on Beard’s childhood pictures from her gymnastics drills and her recent pictures wearing the LSU leotard. She kept the red heart emoji as the caption of the post. That made the gymnastics fans suspicious. Now, her absence from the roster connects the dots for the fans. Also, on January 6, the Abeka Academy alum uploaded an Instagram story, sharing the interior picture of the Functional 45 Training facility. The training facility is known for its innovative physical exercise drills, and the coaching helps to regain fitness. The LSU Gymnastics star may have registered for the sessions. Per the fans, all those points signify one particular result: Annie Beard has medically retired from the season. She is now shedding sweat to regain her fitness. Meanwhile, her absence might pose a severe blow to her side, which has the target of defending the national championship title this season. Last year, Annie left a major impact on the court and played a vital role in LSU Gymnastics’ victory. In 2021, Annie Beard signed up for the LSU Gymnastics program. After having successful gymnastics outings in the US Classic, P&G Championships, and JO National Championships, she landed in Baton Rouge, hyping fans’ expectations. However, her opening season fell short of fulfilling the expectations. Why? Beard didn’t compete for the LSU Gymnastics in her freshman season. She came back in 2024, though, during her sophomore season. And boy, she made a name for herself! On January 13, Annie Beard competed on the balance beam for the first time in her college career at the Sprout’s Collegiate Quad Invitational. Following that, during the meet against Kentucky, she achieved a personal best score of 9.875 on the beam event. On the special Cancer Awareness night, her sister Caroline, a cancer survivor, was present in the audience to support her.
