OSCAR PIASTRI shares the experience of the most troublesome charging atmosphere you have met from the momentary growth list.

Despite the second year of F1, PIAPRI has already won nine podiums on 40 departures. This is a 25 % impressive podium. He recently spoke about his toughest break-room moment.

In an interview with Cosmopolitan UK, Piastri was asked a series of simple questions during a video session at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking. When he was asked about the most unpleasant experience in his charging room, he didn’t need much time to think.

“The most troublesome work to charge …” said Piast. “I mean, I haven’t been to many races, but the most embarrassing one was after Spa, where George [Russell] won and Lewis [Hamilton] finished second.”

At the 2023 Belgian Grand Prix at Spa, the two Mercedes drivers used different strategies. Russell opted for a one-stop strategy, while Hamilton opted for a two-stop strategy. The two approaches converged at the end of the race, and Russell was able to stay ahead of Hamilton and Pierstrri.

However, a few hours after the race, Russell was disqualified as his car was slightly inadequate. The disqualification hadnโ€™t yet happened when the three drivers gathered in the cooldown room before heading to the podium.

โ€œI finished third on the road, and then, of course, George got disqualified. I was nervous. ”

He added as follows: “Lewis has led a big race. In many circumstances, he should have won this race comfortably, so I understand how he felt at that time. โ€

Piastri could tell Hamilton was not in a talkative mood, saying: โ€œI understood very well that Lewis didnโ€™t want toโ€ฆ He was not in a talkative mood, so I just kept quiet and watched the highlights, just kept quiet and watched myself!โ€
