Nelly Korda, a prominent figure in women’s professional golf, has recently shared her thoughts and experiences regarding pregnancy, particularly in light of her sister Jessica Korda’s journey into motherhood. Jessica, a six-time LPGA Tour winner, announced her pregnancy in August 2023 and gave birth to her first child, Greyson, in February 2024.

Nelly expressed immense excitement about becoming an aunt, stating, “It’s been exciting to kind of be in her corner through all this. Iโ€™m very excited for her and this next step.” She emphasized the significance of family support during such transformative times, highlighting the close-knit bond she shares with her sister.

The birth of her nephew, Greyson, has brought joy to Nelly’s life. She affectionately referred to him as “a chunker,” indicating his healthy growth and her playful engagement as an aunt.

Nelly’s perspective on pregnancy extends beyond her familial experiences. She acknowledges the challenges that professional athletes face when balancing their careers with family life. The LPGA Tour’s maternity policy allows players to take maternity leave in the year they become pregnant and give birth, or to defer the leave to the following year, providing flexibility for athletes planning their return to professional golf.

Nelly’s reflections on her sister’s pregnancy and her role as an aunt have provided her with a deeper appreciation for the personal lives of athletes. She continues to support her sister’s journey, both personally and professionally, while maintaining her own commitments on the LPGA Tour.

In sharing her experiences, Nelly contributes to the broader conversation about the intersection of professional sports and family life, underscoring the importance of support systems and flexible policies that accommodate the personal aspirations of athletes.
