Luke Humphries has hit back after James Wade pointed out that only Phil Taylor and perhaps Michael van Gerwen outshine him in greatness.
James Wade has expressed his views on Luke Humphries following Gary Anderson’s defence of the current world number one and reigning world champion. Wayne Mardle also commented on Gary Anderson’s remarks during the World Grand Prix.
Wade supported Anderson’s earlier statements by passionately defending Humphries, asserting that only Phil Taylor and perhaps Michael van Gerwen can be considered superior world champions. Humphris, Mira No. 1, had an impressive year, starting with his victory at the Grand Prix, the World Grand Prix in 2023, followed by victories in the Great Helm of Darts, the finals of the championship of the world in the Palace of Alexandra this year of the Pole of the Commentary Wade appeared shortly after the two -time world champion Anderson noted that Humphris is often “overlooked” and deserves “a little more respect”.
“I must admit that Gary Anderson and I do not always see our eyes,” Wade said during a press conference, after his victory with a score of 3-0 over Gerwin Price on Thursday. “But I strongly believe Luke Humphries is the second or third best world champion I’ve ever seen.”
After watching Gerwyn Price’s classic roar during the World Grand Prix, James Wade celebrated enthusiastically after winning the first set in his last round of 16 match.
“There have been many world champions, but Luke Humphries has achieved just about everything since the World Cup and even before.”
