Lewis Hamilton has given his verdict on the Singapore Grand Prix through a Mercedes press release after skipping his post-race interviews

Lewis Hamilton has spok

en out following a tough outing at the 2024 Singapore Grand Prix, where his race was marred by strategic missteps and a lackluster performance by his Mercedes team. After skipping the customary post-race interview with Sky Sports, Hamilton addressed the disappointment through a team statement, acknowledging the ongoing struggles the team has faced this season. He emphasized that although every decision is made with the right intentions, sometimes things just don’t work out as planned. This was certainly the case in Singapore, where their tire strategyโ€”starting him on soft tiresโ€”proved ineffective, leading to an early pit stop that compromised his race.

Hamilton finished in a frustrating sixth place, a result far below expectations, considering he started third on the grid. Mercedes Team Principal Toto Wolff later admitted that the strategy was a miscalculation, explaining that the team hoped the soft tires would give Hamilton an edge at the start. However, the move backfired, and their car struggled with pace compared to competitors like McLaren and Red Bull.

Despite the difficulties, Hamilton remains committed to bouncing back, expressing optimism for the upcoming races, particularly the U.S. Grand Prix in Austin. He reiterated that the team is analyzing their recent dip in form and is determined to improve. Mercedes has faced several challenges in recent races, but the team is hopeful for a turnaround as they head into the final stretch of the season.
