Simone Biles’ emotional reaction as she completes GOAT tour

The 11-time Olympic gold medalist finished the 2024 Gold Over America Tour on November 3

Simone Biles had an emotional reaction as she reached the conclusion of her Gold Over America Tour (GOAT) on November 3 as she celebrated her success at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

The 27-year-old has been on her victory parade for around six weeks but it finally came to a conclusion on Sunday night as she and Jordan Chiles and Joscelyn Roberson reflected on their triumphs.

“Last show day. Bittersweet,” Biles posted to Instagram, before later adding a photo of her, Chiles and Roberson watching themselves on the big screen at the Little Ceasars Arena in Detroit.

And as she’s yet to officially announce whether she will compete in the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, it could be the final time she is heralded as one of the greatest ever whilst still an active gymnast, marking a shift in her career.

Approaching 30, she is long past the point of retirement for her profession meaning that the dominant performances in France and redemption from Tokyo 2020, could have been her swansong.

Of course, if outing in Europe was her last time, she went out with a bang. She claimed gold in the team, all-around and vault events as well as a silver on the floor as Rebeca Andrade was the only competitor to beat her.

Biles doesn’t count out LA 2028

Biles has been married to the Chicago Bears’ Jonathan Owens since April 2023 following around 2.5 years of dating and as they are completing their home just outside of Houston, Texas, her attention may soon turn to beginning a family.

That would likely mean she would be unable to train and maintain the peak athleticism needed to compete at the Olympics, thus meaning she could bow out from the sport – at least on that level anyway.

However, so far that might not be her focus. In Paris, buoyed by her success, she admitted she is still thinking about Los Angeles to compete in front of her home fans and on her home turf in California.

“Never say never,” Biles said on August 3. “The next Olympics is at home, so you just never know, but I am getting really old.”
