Luke Humphries issues Luke Littler Crucial advice following on-stage row with Pietreczko

Luke Humphries offered some words of advice Luke Littler after the youngster was confronted by Ricardo Pietreczko at the Belgian Darts Open

Luke Humphries has given Luke Littler a pep talk following the darts sensation’s run-in with Ricardo Pietreczko.

Littler was confronted by Pietreczko after beating him in the semi-final of the Belgian Darts Open last weekend. The German then took to social media to brand the 17-year-old “arrogant”.

The World Championship runner-up, and most viewers, were left mystified by the behaviour of Pietreczko, who was seemingly unhappy with Littler’s quirky attempt to take out 147 via treble 19, double 20 and the bull, viewing it as showboating.

Luke Littler fans can now buy the 17-year-old’s playing shirt to support him as he continues to demonstrate his talent in the Premier League.

The darts sensation was only 16 when he wowed Alexandra Palace at the World Darts Championship (WDC), despite a final loss to Luke Humphries.

The Nuke will continue playing against seven of the best dart players in the world — Humphries, Michael van Gerwen, Gerwyn Price, Michael Smith, Nathan Aspinall, Rob Cross and Peter Wright — in a mini-tournament in a different city every Thursday until the final in May.

“Well, I really appreciated him being able to play a game like that at such an age, but I hope his arrogance punishes him,” blasted Pietreczko. For his part, Littler insisted he took that route because of his liking for double tops.

Humphries, the man who beat the youngster in January’s World final, has defended his rival, insisting he should feel free to go with whatever finishing route he chooses.
