I’M LEAVING” Brian Callahan threaten to leave as Titans management board refuse to put his capacious conditions into consideration.

Brian Callahan landed an agreement from Harvard offensive line transfer Jacob Rizy on Wednesday evening. Rizy visited FSU this past weekend, as Noles247 first reported. He chose the Seminoles over Northwestern and others. He called FSU head coach Mike Norvell and offensive line coach Alex Atkins to share news of his decision.

“I was really excited about the opportunity and I think it’s going to push me to be the best and really take full advantage of what they’ve got to offer down there,” Rizy told Noles247. “I want to see how far I can take football and I think that’s the best place to do it.”

Rizy said Norvell was excited when he shared the news.

As for the decision itself, it wasn’t an easy one for Rizy to reach.

“It was pretty difficult. I think they are very different environments. I thought Northwestern has a great staff and great facilities and so does Florida State. I just think it came down minute details. Just a little more stability at Florida State is kind of what put them over the edge,” Rizy said. “They’ve got guys who have transferred in from FCS schools and have been very successful. So, you know, it’s a possibility at Florida State, which was kind of something that pushed me over the edge. I was very impressed by Northwestern and very impressed by Florida State, so it was tough.”

FSU views the 6-foot-5, 305-pound lineman as an interior option.

He will arrive at FSU after the spring semester, when he finishes graduating from Harvard. He has two years to play two.

He arrived at Harvard in 2020 but the Ivy League canceled that season. He redshirted in 2021, while playing over the past two seasons and earning All-Ivy League honors both years. He spent the last two seasons playing offensive tackle, but he was the backup center in 2021 and he worked a lot at guard during spring practices.
