Mariners Slugger Reportedly `High’ On Red Sox’s Offseason Free Agent List

Mariners Slugger Said to Be ‘High’ on Red Sox Offseason Free Agent List Boston Is Looking for a New Slugger and a Stud Mariners Are a Logical Option Boston Red Sox Could Use a Pro-Slugger other right-hander to add him to the Red Sox free agent list.
Boston’s lineup is loaded with lefties, and the Red Sox will likely lose one of their best right-handers from the 2023 campaign.
Red Sox signed Justin Turner to free agency due last year, but he will likely play elsewhere when the 2024 campaign gets underway.
Boston will be looking for a new right-hander and one player who could be an option is former Houston Astros, Toronto Blue Jays and Seattle Mariners slugger Teoscar Hernández, according to Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe.
“Teoscar Hernández will get a much larger contract than you would expect for a career .
261 hitter with a .
316 on-base percentage,” Abraham said.
“He has an .
803 OPS over the past three seasons with 83 homers and he hits lefties.
For teams like the Red Sox, who need right-handed power, he’ll be at the top list.
” Hernández is an intriguing name to keep an eye on.
He is 31 years old and has hit at least 25 homers in each of the past four seasons – not including the shortened 2020 campaign.
Last season, he hit 26 homers , drove in 93 runs and recorded 29 doubles for the Mariners.
Additionally, Hernández could give the Red Sox more outfield depth.
There’s a good chance the Red Sox will trade at least one outfielder this offseason, and Hernández could help replace him.
Free agency has officially begun and it wouldn’t be too surprising to see the Red Sox make a big splash quickly.
