Cleveland Browns coach Kevin Stefanski (right), senior vice president of football operations and GM Andrew Berry are looking to improve their roster before Tuesday’s trade deadline.

SEATTLE – The Browns have until 4 p.m. Tuesday to make phone calls.
Trade deadline to strengthen positions or preserve draft picks.
Coming into last week’s game against the Colts, the Browns didn’t want to trade marquee players or veteran quarterbacks. But that was before Deshaun Watson suffered a right rotator cuff injury in practice and was ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Seahawks.
The Browns may not be able to pull the trigger on their veteran quarterback just yet, but they should at least keep the possibility open amid the uncertainty.

They have another lockout game on Sunday against P.J. Walker will take the wheel in Seattle this season to determine if he can slot Walker in as a backup.
In fact, no one knows how Watson will react to his shoulder when he returns and whether another hard hit will knock him down again. The Browns need a backup quarterback who can protect the ball and complement a championship-caliber defense.
It’s unclear whether they will ask about former Browns quarterback Jacoby Brissett, but the team would at least accept an offer for Brissett to become a free agent after the season, league sources said.
They will look to part ways with some of the veterans in the division, including Montez Sweat and Chase Young.
Browns GM Andrew Berry is always on the lookout for aggressive talent this time of year, talking to all or most of his NFL peers to lay the groundwork for a potential trade.
Most of the time, it only happens after the last game before the deadline.
No. 31 The Browns could also use receivers and running backs. Jerome Ford sprained his foot against the Colts but returned Friday and showed speed in individual drills.
He is optimistic that he will be able to play on Sunday.

The Browns are still waiting for Elijah Moore, who caught the game-winning 30-yard touchdown pass last week, this season.
But he could still use a weapon for Watson.
Especially if they beat the Seahawks, they go 5-2 and have a good chance of making the playoffs.

If the Browns don’t add talent, they’ll look to add another pick who won’t be on the field much.
Trading periods are usually inflated, but not for lack of effort.

Watson went on a trip

Watson, as expected, made the trip to Seattle after missing the game with a torn right rotator cuff.
Rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson will back up Walker, while Watson will stay on the sidelines, helping out his fellow QB and studying the plays on the field the last two weeks.

Of course, Watson would like to be back for next week’s home game against the Cardinals, but he and the Browns will continue to take him day-to-day and won’t rule him out until the shoulder is strong enough.
Four players listed as questionable for the Browns also made the trip: Jerome Ford (ankle), Jedrick Wills Jr. (foot, ankle), Marquise Goodwin (back), Sion Takitaki (hamstring).

Wills will probably play

Wills, who injured his foot and ankle during practice Wednesday, is expected to be tested in Seattle, a league source told cleveland.com.
After two regular season games against the 49ers and Colts, Wills sat out Thursday but returned in a limited fashion Friday.
Afterwards, as he approached his locker, he didn’t want to talk about his injury. It may have been disappointing given that he has played well in back-to-back games and has been hampered by an ankle injury in 2021.

If Wills is unable to play, he will be replaced by James Hudson III in the 2021 4th round. But the Browns will hope that Wills, who has continued to struggle despite widespread criticism, can bounce back from the past two weeks.

Myles Garrett vs… Jason Peters?

Garrett could get his chance against Peter, the Seahawks’ nine-time All-Star who was cut from the practice squad on Saturday.
Peters, the oldest player in the NFL at 41, tried to stop Garrett with the Bears in 2021, but it didn’t pan out. Garrett tied rookie Justin Fields for the Browns single-game record with 4.5 sacks, half of the Browns’ total on the day.
AFC Defensive Player of the Week Garrett had a monster game against the Colts in which he sacked Gardner Minshew twice, blocked a quarterback for a touchdown and batted a pass before leading the Browns with nine tackles.
, was the catalyst for 17 of the Browns’ 39 points.

The question is whether he can defend his crown from the underdog like Dustin Hopkins did last week.
The Browns promoted two players to the active roster.

The Browns brought in Ty Nsehe and Jordan Wilkins as insurance against injuries to Ford and Wills, both of whom could be limited if they play.

Nsekhe (6-foot-1, 325 pounds) is in his 10th season with Texas. He played five snaps on special teams for the Browns in Week 3.
Originally signed by the Colts as an undrafted free agent in 2012, he appeared in 104 games.
Started eight games for the Rams last season.

Wilkins (6-0, 204), who spent the preseason with the Browns, is in his sixth year at Ole Miss.
Originally drafted out of Indianapolis in the fifth round in 2018, he played in 54 games for 1,009 yards and four touchdowns on 208 carries. He also has 35 carries for 233 metres.
Information about Geno Smith and the man

Selected sixth overall by the Browns in favor of Barkevious Mingo in the 2013 draft, Smith has struggled in man coverage this season.
And the Browns ran more man plays than any defense in the NFL.
According to Warren Sharp of Sharp Football, Smith ranks 36th in the NFL in rushing with 3.6 yards per attempt.
In man coverage, they ranked fourth in the NFL with 8.4 yards per attempt.
area.
It’s safe to say the Browns will play against the Seahawks’ quality receivers on Sunday.
But Garrett was impressed by Smith, the 2022 Player of the Year, in this week’s footage.

“She is a very nice person.” Garrett said.
“He is calm and very capable.
It can move in your pocket.
He’s always in that role and if you’re comfortable with him and think he’s not one of the best, he’s willing to prove you wrong.
