October 27 – Morgan Rielly had a goal and an assist as the visiting Toronto Maple Leafs beat the Dallas Stars 4-1 on Thursday.
Mitchell Marner, Tyler Bertuzzi and John Tavares also scored for the Maple Leafs, who won their third straight game.

Joseph Wall made 31 second-goal saves for the Maple Leafs, giving them a 3-1-0 record on a five-game road trip.
Mason Marchment scored for the Stars, who finished 4-0-1 in their previous games this season and earned the points.

Scott Wedgewood stopped 20 shots for the Stars.
The Maple Leafs have won six straight in Dallas, while Toronto has won 17 of the teams’ last 21 meetings.

Rielly scored his second goal of the season from the rim as the teams played with four skates apiece at 9:49 of the first period.
He caught William Nylander’s reverse pass in the back of the net before crossing the right circle.

Marner hit the right post at 5:40 of the first.
Toronto’s Jake McCabe (lower body injury) left the game early in the first quarter and did not return, leaving the Maple Leafs with five defensemen.

Toronto led 8-5 in goal difference after one period.
Dallas made its first six shots of the second period, forcing Wall to make a pair of big saves.

Marchment scored his first goal of the season on a shot from the left wing at 11:17 of the second. Matt Duchene’s pass set up the goal as the Stars used a Maple Leaf substitution after a long shift.

Toronto took the lead for the second time at 18:07 after a Dallas turnover.
Marner scored his second goal of the season from the left circle after receiving a pass from Auston Matthews.

Dallas led 21-18 in goal difference after two periods.
Bertuzzi scored his second goal of the season on a power play at 5:08 of the third period. Jani Hakanpaa served a minor double to keep the level high.
With less than three minutes left in the game, Wedgwood was replaced by an extra forward. Tavares scored an empty net goal in the final seconds, his fourth goal of the season.
