Kirk Cousins wants his bandmates to know that Creed has more hits than “Up.”

Quarterback Kirk Cousins said he believes the rock band Creed inspired the Vikings’ second straight victory.

After Minnesota’s 22-17 win over the 49ers on Monday night, Cousins explained how the Creed song played a role in the team’s pregame practice. The players listened to the 1999 hit song “High” in the locker room before some players began to pray before the game.

Cousins pointed out that safety Harrison Smith made a “big point” by singing “This is a Prayer.”

The judge admitted he liked the comment, but told reporters he wished the team had played more Creed songs than “High.”

“But they keep playing ‘Up’ and I’m thinking, ‘Creed has a bunch of hits.’ They have a good catalog,” Cousins said.
“Not only do they play ‘High’ for us, they push us.”

The Vikings aren’t the only professional team now relying on Creed songs for motivation. The Rangers recognized the group and their song “High” during a postseason game that earned the organization a berth in the 2023 World Series.
