Deion Sanders reacts to Kenan Thompson’s ‘SNL’ impression

There’s no better way to show the world that you’ve arrived as an important aspect of the cultural zeitgeist than to spoof NBC’s hit show Saturday Night Live.

Colorado Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders knows the value of attention better than anyone, so he probably enjoyed the influence of comedian Kenan Thompson during the show’s season premiere.
“I’m a fan of Kenan.
Let me explain. I love it,” Sanders told reporters at his weekly news conference Tuesday.
“I love what he brings to comedy.
It looks like it should have been around for decades. I have had the pleasure and honor of hosting Saturday Night Live in the past and I will never forget those moments.
. But it was good.”

At the screening, Thompson wore a Colorado hoodie, hat and sunglasses similar to Sanders’ secondary outfit. Thompson added another layer to the comedy by criticizing Sanders’ bravado in a skit that aired on October 14.

The Weekend Update segment with Colin Jost came a day after the Buffaloes lost 46-43 in overtime to Stanford.
Colorado entered the locker room leading 29-0.
The loss dropped the Buffaloes’ record to 4-3 after starting the season 3-0.
“Wasn’t that weird?” “Hey, we didn’t do anything at halftime, so we went home and went to bed,” said Thompson, the fictional head coach. I woke up this morning in shock like everyone else.

Another funny moment was when Thompson poked fun at Prime’s quote during a press conference.
“Colin, look at me. What do you think of me?
Do you think I care what you think about me?
You don’t realize I’ve got everything on my team,” Thompson said while playing Sanders.
‘Coaching?
genius. crime? explosive. defense? Postpone.
That’s it, buddy.”

Sanders took the joke to heart even after the embarrassing loss that threatened the team’s hopes.
But when asked who made the best impression on him, Sanders didn’t pick Thompson.

“We have to give it to Lu Young,” Sanders said.
“I hate to admit it, but Lou is fine.
“Miss Lu is very pretty.”

Colorado plays a week after losing to Stanford.
This week, the Buffaloes travel west to take on #23 UCLA.
