Mysterious shared message from Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc after US GP disqualification

Mercedes star Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc were both banned from the United States Grand Prix after Sunday’s race for breaching Formula 1 rules.

Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc’s cars did not comply with F1 regulations after the race.

Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc posted identical cryptic messages on Instagram following their suspensions from the United States Grand Prix.

Hamilton lost second place after Sunday’s race when his Mercedes failed the floor and floor wear physical inspection. Meanwhile, Ferrari driver Leclerc was found guilty of the same offense after finishing sixth in Austin.

The underbody skids of each car were worn and no longer Formula 1 compliant. McLaren star Lando Norris finished second behind winner Max Verstappen, while fellow Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz moved up to third.

In response to the FIA’s announcement, seven-time world champion Hamilton and rival Leclerc shared photos of themselves from the press conference via Instagram. The subtitle simply reads “Mood”.

In Mercedes’ press release after the FIA’s announcement, Hamilton added: “Of course it’s disappointing to be disqualified after the race, but that doesn’t detract from the progress we’ve made this weekend.”

Team leader Toto Wolff explained: “It’s always difficult to choose a set-up for a sprint weekend with only an hour of free practice.
This is especially true on bumpy circuits like COTA and with new packages.

“In the end, none of this matters.
Where we were wrong, others were right and it had no place in the rules.
“We have to accept it, learn from it and come back stronger next weekend.”

Mercedes technical director Andrew Shovlin added: “We are very disappointed to have missed out on a podium place. Unfortunately, this is one of the pitfalls of the sprint format.
We have to take responsibility for ourselves.” Travel for 1 hour to Parcul Ferme.
“With FP1, no fuel tax for racing, a bumpy circuit and chain parts requiring drivers to park their cars during the Grand Prix, the wear rate was higher than expected.
