The Pittsburgh Steelers amputated a veteran’s leg.

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers have sidelined Pat Freiamus for at least the next four weeks and placed him on injured reserve, the team announced.
Fryermuth suffered a hamstring injury in Week 4 and was sidelined in Week 5 against the Baltimore Ravens.
A week later, he returned to practice with plans for the Week 7 game against the Los Angeles Rams.
Unfortunately, he aggravated the injury in training and will be out for at least four weeks.

Fryermuth has caught eight passes this season, two of which were touchdowns.
Along with Fryermuth, the Steelers will rely on Darnell Washington, Connor Hayward and Rodney Williams at the tight end position.

The team also activated wide receiver Deontay Johnson from IR after the last four weeks.
He is scheduled to return to action this weekend for his first game in Week 1 against the Rams.
