Report: Colts signing former Bears unbelievable WR to practice squad

The Colts sign former Bears WR Anthony Miller as coach

The Colts add speed and separation to their practice squad with this veteran signing.

According to NFL Insider Jordan Schultz, the Indianapolis Colts are signing former Chicago Bears wide receiver Anthony Miller to the team’s practice squad:

The former 2018 second-round pick of the Memphis Bears also spent time with the Houston Texans, Pittsburgh Steelers and San Francisco 49ers organizations.

At 5’11”, 199 pounds, Miller has 140 receptions for 1,589 receiving yards (11.4 year average) and 12 touchdowns during his five-year NFL career, including no. Appearances in 50 matches (18 starts). He suffered a season-ending shoulder injury last August.

After running a 4.48 forty with a 39-inch vertical at Pro Day in 2018, Miller has the speed and athleticism to work with (with a 9.27 RAS on a high 10.0).

Interestingly, the Colts continue to add more deep threats to their roster, as the team also added former Denver Broncos speedster K.J. Hamler joined their practice squad. Indianapolis is clearly looking to add more speed and separation to its taxi fleet.

At 29, Miller is a veteran who could replace the Colts lower on the depth chart and in the event of injury, and he has even less experience returning to special teams specifically to increase flexibility in the squad.
