Vikings coach offers troubling clue about Justin Jefferson’s injury

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson left Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs with a hamstring injury and it looks very likely he will miss some time in the future.

Jefferson injured his hamstring when he slipped while making a cut in the fourth quarter. You can watch the segment below:

Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell told reporters Monday that Jefferson’s injury is still being evaluated. However, O’Connell said Jefferson is feeling “depressed” and the team will have to protect him “from himself.”

This could mean that Jefferson will need time to recover. The last thing the Vikings wanted to do was push their best player and the hamstring issue persisted throughout the season. Jefferson is third in the NFL after five games with 571 receiving yards. He led the league last season with 1,809 receiving yards. The Vikings are off to a 1-4 start, so they could fall into an even bigger gap if Jefferson misses one or more games.
