Deion Sanders asks about possible contract extension with CU Buffs
Deion Sanders has only coached five games for the Colorado Buffaloes football program to date, but the hype and enthusiasm in Boulder is like never before.
Of course, other programs and perhaps NFL teams are probably thinking long and hard about trying to lure Coach Prime away from CU. When asked about the possibility of extending his contract with the Buffs, he answered honestly (per Rivals’ Nikki Edwards):
“It’s a wonderful gesture. I love it. But I’m smart enough to know, old enough and wise enough to know that that could backfire right away. The fan only blows when you’re hot. My mother said that, not me. So if you all want to be angry, be angry at my mother.
Coach Prime is always a golden anecdote, and this one is no exception. Sure, it’s still early in his tenure with the Buffs, but something like that could happen, especially with the incredible turnaround that has occurred thus far.
