Deion Sanders posts big update on Travis Hunter’s return
BOULDER, CO – Colorado Buffaloes cornerback Travis Hunter (#12) leaves the field after warmups before the game against the Nebraska Cornhuskers at Folsom Champ.
The Colorado Buffaloes are reeling and could use some help, especially on defense. The big question is when Travis Hunter can return to host Buffs coach Deion Sanders.
There is no doubt that Coach Prime will breathe a sigh of relief if the 20-year-old fullback can return to action. Unfortunately, Deion Sanders’ latest update on Travis Hunter may not bring solace.
Sanders revealed Hunter will be sidelined for another two to three weeks while he recovers from a liver laceration, ESPN reported.
“Let’s say two or three [weeks],” Sanders said when asked about Hunter’s recovery. “My dream and wish is that he will be out until the bye weekend.”
As a result, the 20-year-old will likely miss the Buffaloes’ games against Arizona State and Stanford. The Buffs have next week off, which means Travis Hunter could return to wearing the belt before October 28 against UCLA.
Shilo Sanders returns
In addition to Hunter, there is also Shilo Sanders, who was against the USC Trojans. However, in another update from Deion Sanders, the Pro Football Hall of Famer’s second son returned to practice after a scary kidney injury, Sports Illustrated reported.
“Shilo’s been great and he’s back on the practice field,” Sanders said. “He pissed me off again. So he picked up where we left off.”
The Buffaloes are scheduled to face the Sun Devils on Saturday, October 7. They are 6.5 favorites to win according to USA Today.
