On Monday, in a since-deleted handwritten message, he said he had been taken to the hospital “against my will” by the Las Vegas Fire Department a week earlier. He wrote that Las Vegas police were on the scene when firefighters arrived.

The Raiders said in a statement on X, formerly known as Twitter, that the team “hopes Chandler Jones gets the care he needs.” He, his family and all involved are in our thoughts. Because this is a legal matter, we will not comment further. »

Owner Mark Davis did not respond to a text message request for comment.

When available Friday, coach Josh McDaniels declined to comment when asked about Jones, saying he “doesn’t know everything.” He said nothing has changed on the coaching staff’s part.
