Kyle Berkshire is one of the world’s longest distance riders.
Nobody has ever hit a golf ball harder than Kyle Berkshire. In late 2023, the professional long driver touched 241 mph ball speed (yes, you read that correctly) just weeks after he recorded a drive that traveled 579 yards. Thereโs long, and then thereโs Kyle Berkshire long. Long drivers are a different type of golfer than the average Joe, or even the average professional, but there’s still a lot to learn about how they track the ball, and if you can incorporate a little long-drive technique into your game, you could add some valuable yards to your carries. Kyle Berkshireโs Tips on Long Shots
If you want to get the most out of your practice, you need to hit the ball. Itโs an easy principle to understand, but can be difficult to put into practice. “You’d be surprised at how many golfers we see this with,” Berkshire says. “Their spines aren’t tilted. ยป
If you look at a long driver at address, you’ll see that their shoulders are angled away from the target. This look comes into play as the shot approaches and helps you swing towards the ball by increasing your angle of attack.

โThe best speed setting is to have a positive axis tilt relative to the plane youโre swinging in,โ Berkshire says. โPlace your hand on your chest and feel that tilt. And then go swarm. ยปยป
