14 LIV Golf stars set to make Tour return including Brooks Koepka, Jon Rahm and other prominent Golf stars…. full article below ⬇️

With the LIV Golf season coming to an end this weekend, a whole host of big-name stars from the breakaway league are set to venture elsewhere for competitive golf in October

A total of 14 LIV Golf stars are set to make their return to the DP World Tour in October, having been included on the entry list for next month’s Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.

The Pro-Am event – that has become a staple on the DP World Tour schedule – has once again attracted a strong field, with the likes of Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry, Tommy Fleetwood and Matt Fitzpatrick all teeing it up across St Andrews, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns Golf Links.

They will be joined by a number of their LIV rivals though, with some taking advantage of their DP World Tour exemption status, with others receiving tournament invites to come and compete across some of Scotland’s most prestigious course.

Headlining the returning LIV stars is former world No. 1 Jon Rahm. Rahm’s future on the DP World Tour has become a huge talking point in recent months, with the Spaniard required to play in three more events on the European setup by the end of the year to remain a member, and thus eligible for the Ryder Cup.

Having been issued fines and suspensions for competing in ‘conflicting’ LIV events by DP World Tour bosses, doubts were cast over whether the Legion XIII captain would be able to carry out his requirements and represent Team Europe next year. Fortunately an appeal is set to allow him to compete in the Spanish Open, Andalucia Masters and the trip to the Dunhill Links.

Rahm’s Legion XIII teammate, Tyrrell Hatton finds himself in the same boat when it comes to completing the four-event quota to remain a Tour member. Unlike Rahm’s one start, Hatton has played in two DP World Tour events this year, and is set to make it three and four alongside his LIV captain in Spain and Scotland.

Elsewhere, another big name from the Saudi-funded circuit teeing it up in Scotland is five-time major champion Brooks Koepka. The Smash GC captain c ommitted to the DP World Tour event last week, and expressed his excitement to play his favourite golf course in the Old Course at St Andrews.

I’ve been fortunate to play in several Dunhill Links, as well as two Open Championships at St Andrews over the years, and these trips are always highlights to my year,” he said. “I love Links golf and St Andrews is my favourite course in the world. I could play there every day for the rest of my life and never get tired of it.”

Koepka will also be joined by his Smash GC counterpart, and LIV’s 2023 individual champion Talor Gooch. Three-time LIV winner Gooch was set to compete in the DP World Tour event last year, but was a late withdrawal from the tournament which was eventually won by Fitzpatrick following a delayed finish on the Monday.

There is also space for two former major champions too, with 2016 Masters champion, Patrick Reed earning an invite, as well as 2010 Open at St Andrews, Louis Oosthuizen. The full list of LIV stars entered into next month’s event is below.
